Menurut kamus Oxford, “time (dibaca: /taim/) is a period of minutes, hour, day, etc”. dalam Bahasa Indonesia, time berarti waktu. Kita setiap hari tidak terlepas oleh waktu. Bahkan beberapa peristiwa seringkali kita menjumpai seseorang bertanya tentang waktu, bertanya tentang kapan kamu berangkat sekolah, jam berapa kamu berangkat ke sekolah dan seseorang pernah bertanya kepadamu, “jam berapa sekarang?”.

Penggunaan p.m and a.m 

  1. a.m singkatan dari ante meridiem artinya before noon yaitu sebelum tenggah hari dimulai dari jam 24.00 malam sampai dengan 11.59 siang.
  2.  p.m singkatan dari post meridiem artinya after noon yaitu setelah tengah hari 12.00-23.59
